Derek Riggs
Assistant Coach

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Riggs is in his 15th season as an assistant coach with the Coyote volleyball program. He was honored in 2015 as the AVCA West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

BEFORE C OF I: Riggs came to the College in 2008 from Columbia High in Nampa, where he was an assistant coach, and from the Boise River Volleyball Club, where he coached the 18’s National Team.

PERSONAL: A native of Baker City, Ore., native played club volleyball at Boise State, while serving as a student-assistant for the BSU women’s volleyball team from 2003-05. Riggs received a physical education degree at BSU and is currently in his seventh year as a PE teacher at Ronald Reagan Elementary in Nampa.


Liz Myers-Osburn
Assistant Coach

PERSONAL: Myers-Osburn is a 2013 graduate of the C of I, where she was a four-year member of the Coyote volleyball program from 2010-13. She ranks fourth in block assists (402), fifth in total blocks (464), ninth in block solos (62) 11th in kills (994), 12th in attack attempts (2,356) She averaged 1.08 blocks and 2.31 kills per set for her career on her way to a .231 hitting percentage in 121 matches. Myers-Osburn was named honorable mention NAIA All-American  and first team all-CCC in 2013 as College of Idaho won the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season and tournament championship. In her career, C of I won four regular season championships, two tournament championships and twice were the runner up in the  conference tournament. Plus, the Coyotes reached the national tournament and hosted the opening round all four years. Twice, they reached the first round of bracket play and in 2012 they reached the national quarterfinals.


Madison Machurek
Head Beach Coach

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Machurek was a standout for the Yotes from 2007-10, earning all-Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in 2009 and 2010 and all region in 2010. The College of Idaho won four-straight CCC regular season titles  and twice was conference tournament champions on its way to a 100-29 overall record. She graduated in 2011 with her bachelor’s in physical education and minors in coaching and psychology.

BEFORE C OF I: The Eagle, Idaho native returns to C of I after serving as the head indoor and beach volleyball coach at NCAA Division II LaGrange College. While at LaGrange, she guided the indoor-volleyball team to three-straight USA South Tournament  appearances. She was instrumental in the development of the beach volleyball program that began play in the spring of 2020. Prior to LaGrange, she served as an assistant coach and the team’s strength and conditioning coach at NCAA Division III Marietta University. Before her collegiate coaching start, she resided in Austin, Texas where she led the  programs at Athlos Leadership Academy, St. Gabriel Catholic School, and coached with Austin Juniors Volleyball Club.

PERSONAL: Early in Machurek's coaching career, she coached at the high school level serving as an assistant coach at Vallivue High School which made three straight state tournament appearances. She also coached with the Boise River and Idaho Crush club teams.
